Biography
Fiona Simpson has been the local Member of Parliament since 1992 and is currently the Deputy Leader of the Nationals, Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Planning.
Fiona grew up on the Sunshine Coast. Within the local community, Fiona is actively involved with community, church and welfare groups and is patron of several sporting organisations. Prior to entering Parliament, Fiona was an award winning journalist and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Queensland with majors in Japanese, Journalism and Government.
Her hobbies and interests include current affairs, singing and song writing (she recorded her own album before entering Parliament), bush walking and tennis.
